At the YMCA, we believe in instilling positive and healthy attitudes at an early age by providing a safe, nurturing and fun environment for children to reach their full potential.
We have been working with young people since first opening our doors to the community in 1853. You could say it is our passion. And as a leading not-for-profit organisation, we are happy to have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children each year.
We offer more than simply looking after your child. We seek to inspire their imagination and nurture their sense of wonder and excitement. Our experienced and qualified educators deliver the best child care possible and are supported by purpose-built facilities, excellent resources and a child-centred philosophy.
Your child’s safety is of paramount importance to us. To help provide a secure environment, all YMCA educators are subject to police checks and a regularly reviewed Working with Children Check before joining the team. We are also an Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) accredited child safe organisation.
It is our policy that, as a minimum, two educators are on duty at all times at our centres. This policy — which exceeds the minimum staffing requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law — helps ensure your child is safe and gives us time to concentrate on their individual needs.
As a community charity, we believe in the importance of connecting your child to their local community. To help foster a sense of belonging, we offer a variety of experiences, incursions and services that support your child as well as your individual sense of connection to the community.
We’re proud to share that in 2014 alone, we connected with 4,446 families in our long day care, kinder, Before and After School Care and School Holiday Programs across 42 locations.
Our presence in the community is made possible by 20 years of industry knowledge, strong partnerships and our ability to offer children — and their families — safe and nurturing environments, talented educators and an inspiring educational philosophy.
Ultimately, however, we are here to support the development of healthy, happy children. Especially yours.
