Enrolment & costs

We know you’re busy, so we want to make the enrolment and payment process as easy as possible for you.

There are a few simple steps you will need to follow in order to enrol your child at a YMCA Early Learning Centre.

  1. Begin by booking a tour at the Early Learning Centre of your choice. Attending a tour is the best way for you to find out more about our programs, facilities and Educators.
  2. When a place becomes available, you will then be asked to complete an enrolment form. This can be done  through our online parent portal or you can ask for a hard copy form from the Centre Manager.

    If a place is not yet available, we will ask you to register so that we can put you on a waitlist and contact you as soon as a place is available. 
  3. Orientation will then be arranged for your child. Orientation visits are free and give your child the opportunity to become familiar with the centre and our educators. There are usually three sessions, running an hour each. Unless previously arranged, you must stay at the centre while your child is undertaking orientation.

Child Care Rebate and Child Care Benefit

The Australian Government offers two main subsidies that you may be eligible for: the Child Care Rebate (CCR) and the Child Care Benefit (CCB).

  • The Child Care Rebate covers 50% of out of pocket child care expenses for approved child care, up to a maximum amount per child per year, in addition to any other child care assistance.

  • The Child Care Benefit helps with costs for approved and registered care such as long day care, outside school hours care, school holiday programs, and kindergarten.

Parents or primary caregivers who are studying may also be entitled to Jobs, Education and Training (JET) benefits.

Payment Title

To make things easier for you, accounts are paid via direct debit. You will need to complete a direct debit authorisation form, and nominate a credit or cheque / savings account for the fees to be debited from as part of the enrolment process. Accounts cannot be paid in person, as no cash is kept on our premises for safety reasons.

Debits are processed fortnightly (every second Thursday), and you will be emailed a statement on the Monday prior. This statement will provide a summary of the cost of care for the previous two weeks and will allow you to query any amounts prior to the debit being processed.

Sessional kindergarten accounts will be charged at the start of each term.
